A. Yes. The Gold Kit is absolutely free upon your request. There is no obligation once you have received your kit.
Q. Can I send you my gold WITHOUT the free Kit?
A. Yes! If you would prefer to send your gold to us without waiting to receive the Kit, you may do so. Please click here to read the instructions.
Q. How do I use the Gold Kit once I receive it?
A. Your kit will arrive at the address you have provided in a normal business envelope. It will come with the following components:
- Your custom, bar coded, trackable and insured* FED EX ™ envelope as well as a tracking receipt and our mailing address pre-addressed on the package.
- A thick (high quality) padded bag to safely hold your scrap gold items.
- A personal letter from us giving you instructions on how to pack your gold items.
- An informational form for you to fill out and return back to us with your scrap gold
All you will need to do is fill out our informational form, put your gold in the bag, put the form and bag in the pre-addressed padded envelope and put it in the mail! Postage and insurance are pre-paid by us.
Q. Is my Gold Kit insured if it is lost in the mail?
A. Yes. In the extreme unlikelihood of your package getting lost, you will be covered on the loss of your package up to $100.00USD by FED EX as described in our Terms and Conditions. If you feel that you would like to have your items insured for more than $100.00USD, it will be your responsibility to ensure that your items are insured for the amount you feel is necessary.
Q. How can I be sure I will get paid for the items I send?
A. Our number one priority is customer satisfaction. In this business, a good reputation is imperative, which is why we work hard to establish trusting relationships with each and every one of our valued clients. You can be ensured you will be paid top dollar for your scrap gold.
Q. How much will you pay me for my gold?
A. Each payment we issue to our clients is different, depending on the contents. To get an idea on how much we pay, please visit our What we pay page.
Q. What types of gold jewelry do you buy?
A. We purchase all types of gold jewelry as long as it is real gold. Typical gold markings include:
- North American: 9k, 9kt, 9ct, 10k, 10kt, 10KP, 14k, 14kt, 18k, 18kt, 22k, 22kt, 24k, 24kt
- European: 375, 411, 585, 750, 915, 999
Q. Are there any types of gold jewelry you do not buy?
A. We do not purchase plated gold. If you have any items with the following markings, please do not include them with your shipment to us:
These markings will be found after the hallmark such as this 10k GF. This is an example of something we would NOT purchase because the actual gold content is too small to have any market value.
Q. Do you buy gemstones?
A. We are not currently buying gemstones and they will not be included in the weight of the gold. Please be sure to remove any stones in your jewelry that you wish to keep as we do not include these in the weight and purchase price of your gold. We cannot return stones once you have accepted our payout offer so again, please be sure to remove stones you wish to keep prior to sending.
Q. What if I am not sure if my items are real gold or if there is no hallmark on the item?
A. All items are tested for gold content when we received them. You may send in these types of items and our testing experts will be able to determine if the item is real gold and the exact karat value.
Q. What if the Gold Kit is too small to hold my items?
A. Many clients have an amount of scrap gold that is too much to fit inside our Gold Kit. If this is your situation, please contact us to request a Gold Pak, which is much larger than the kit. You will need to prepay the postage and insurance with the Pak, but you will be refunded with our purchase of your material.
Q. What if I am not happy with the payment you send for my items?
A. We offer extremely competitive pricing for your scrap items and are confident you will be happy with your payout. If for any reason you are unhappy in any way with the payment you received just have your check returned to us no later than twelve (12) days of the date on the check or send us back the payment we issued to you via Paypal within twelve (12) days (whichever applies) and we will return the material you included in the Gold kit within fifteen (15) business days. No questions asked. This is our 100% satisfaction guarantee. After the twelve (12) day return period your items will be removed from our facility to be refined. If you are concerned that your returned check will not reach us in time, please let us know before the twelve (12) days have passed so that we hold your package for you. Please note that if you elect to have your items returned to you, a $15.00 shipping and handling charge will apply.
Q. Can I request a phone or email quote before you send my payment?
A. Yes. You may request ELITEGOLDBUYERS.COM to provide a telephone or e-mail quote for your items after such items have arrived at the ELITEGOLDBUYERS.COM processing facility. Please note that acceptance via phone or email of your quote is legally binding and we will not be able to return your payment to you and receive your items back once you have accepted our payment offer.
